I can’t believe summer is almost at an end. I hope you were able to carve out some time for fun and family and relaxation.
Feeding Charlotte had a great summer serving our community! We partnered with A Taste of Home Food Truck and Joseph Giddins to make delicious food that our volunteers helped distribute both Uptown and in the Hidden Valley neighborhood.
Special thanks to QDS, Inc. and Joe Farrell for organizing employees to serve so lovingly in the extreme heat! Thanks also to Champion House of Care, Leah’s Hopes and Dreams, Faith Liberation Church, Jack Locke, Larry Toppman, Jeff and Connie Grubbs, Selwa Douleh and all of our grateful neighbors who make our work so rewarding.
We have so much going on this fall, from our peer-to-peer campaign to our art show and Food is Love Celebration! Please keep scrolling to find out more about these fun events.
We invite you all to be a part of this important work because Food is Love, Not Waste.

We are humbled to have the support of many of the Rotary Clubs in our area. Kim was invited to present to both the Dilworth Rotary Club and Meck South Rotary and will be presenting our mission to Charlotte Providence Rotary Club this fall.
The dedication Rotarians have to serving our community is inspirational and we’re so grateful to have the opportunity to partner with them. Stay tuned for great things ahead! |
September is Hunger Awareness Month |
September is Hunger Awareness Month and Feeding Charlotte will be celebrating with our second annual peer-to-peer campaign called "Food Is Love Month."
Our “Food is Love” campaign to help raise funds for our innovative mission and invites you to be a part of what we do, in your very own way and style.
You might choose to send an email to your fundraising link to friends and family &/or post your link on social media. You might host "a party with a purpose" in your home. Perhaps you'll host a lunch and learn at your office, using our video and slideshow resources to share with your coworkers about our innovative work in the hunger and environmental arenas. Maybe you'll find another creative way to share about our mission and give your network an opportunity to give.
Last year, participants raised over $8,000, which allowed us to focus on meeting the needs of our partner organizations providing food rescue volunteers and rescued food.
This year we are wrapping it up with a super fun celebration event on Saturday, October 1st, at The Gallery at Warehouse 242, featuring food and drinks, live music, and amazing artwork from local artists who care about food rescue and the planet. Get tickets HERE.
