QC Hunger Challenge

Over 100,000 people are facing food insecurity and hunger in Mecklenburg county. Feeding Charlotte rescues surplus, freshly prepared meals to reduce food waste and feed the hungry. Our operating model leverages technology and volunteers to match organizations with excess food to other nonprofit organizations who serve people in need.

Since 2019, we have rescued over 250,000 lbs. of freshly prepared, surplus food from the food service industry, delivering over 208,000 meals to area nonprofits that serve the hungry in Charlotte. Join our Food is Love campaign and help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 in September.
